March 2002 Peace Software and EC Power Sign Global Alliance

Alliance recognizes successful long-term relationship and future commitment

Peace Software and EC Power today announced a global alliance to jointly market Peace Software's EnergyTM CIS (Customer Information System) and EC Power's electronic transaction management services for efficient business-to-business information exchange in transitional and competitive energy markets. The alliance formalizes the two companies' long-standing relationship and paves the way for extended product alignment towards seamless integration.

Peace's Energy suite provides integrated customer and commodity management for utilities and energy retailers. EC Power connects and manages the electronic exchange of customer- and commodity-related data between energy companies and their trading partners. Together, Energy and EC Power enable utilities and energy retailers to achieve excellent customer service and operational efficiencies, while simultaneously providing the agility they need to expand and respond to evolving market and business process shifts.

"We partner with best-of-breed providers such as EC Power to provide our clients the best solutions available in the marketplace," said Mark Wasiele, Peace Software Vice President of Strategic Alliances. "Speed and flexibility are essential in today's dynamic energy industry and EC Power can rapidly build transaction maps in any file format and dependably maintain these maps in sync with market changes. As a result, our clients' connections always stay current no matter which way the market turns."

JR Hunter, EC Power's Chief Operating Officer, states, "We have in-depth knowledge of the Energy suite, and we are able to rapidly deliver an integrated solution that sustains high volumes of customer and commodity data for multiple markets and services." He further states that, "Our customers can take advantage of speed to market as a result of our close working relationship and familiarity."

Peace Software and EC Power first partnered together in 1998 and currently share joint installations at MidAmerican Energy and American Electric Power (AEP). At AEP, Peace Software and EC Power are supporting nearly one million Texas customers and millions of outbound bills, payments, and inbound meter usage values each month.
