March 2006 EC Power Represents REPower in the ERCOT Market Flight Test 0106

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 2006 EC Power announces the successful completion of Texas flight 0106 for a new CR (Competitive Retailer). REPower Energy entered into the Texas Retail Market March 1, 2006 after successfully testing 15 scripts and 400 transaction files. The new Competitive Retailer completed the test flight in 6 weeks, ensuring a speedy access into the thriving Texas deregulated market.

The ERCOT Market continues to attract new competitive retailers in both the commercial and industrial segments, as well as the mass residential segment. In the Texas market, EC Power has designed a methodology that provides CR's the ability to quickly and successfully pass the certification process and enter the market. This allows the CR to focus on developing their business strategy in the desired market segment of their choice. With 4 scheduled market flight tests a year it is convenient for any new entrant to come into the Texas retail marketplace.

Herb Roberts, Executive Vice President, states, "As a newly licensed CR participating in ERCOT testing for the first time, it was a pleasure working with EC Power. They provided the expertise and guidance that enabled the process to run smoothly and efficiently."

The next round of Retail Market Qualification Testing (Flight 0406) is scheduled to begin on April 14, 2006. ERCOT hosted an orientation meeting in preparation for Flight 0406 on Wednesday, March 8, 2006. The deadline to register for participating in Flight 0406 Retail Market Testing is Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 5 PM CPT.
