September 2006 EC Power: Managed File Transport Service

EC Power, an experienced leader in electric & gas ecommerce, announces today they will provide a managed North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) file transport service. This service will give Energy companies the option to handle their own EDI translation and let EC Power handle the NAESB Electronic Delivery Mechanism (EDM).
If you are an Energy Company looking for a way to reduce costs, this alternative solution may be right for you. Benefits include:
Reduction in cost by moving data traffic off VAN
Reduction in software maintenance and support cost
Reduction in personnel cost - monitoring & support provided by EC Power
Reduction in migration cost - as markets upgrade to new NAESB versions.
In return this will provide tighter security, better connectivity and quicker communication.

While already certified in all NAESB versions, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7, EC Power has the means and ability to stay on top of market upgrades to new versions and standards and provide this knowledge to their clients.

"EC Power's pass through process for GISB/NAESB EDI/EDM is a great way to stay in sync with all the different markets and the latest EDI/EDM versions," states Jesse Cline, EC Power's Senior Business Analyst. "This application is configured by Trading Partner (TP) so a client can trade with many TPs using different EDI/EDM versions. This is the same certified EDI/EDM solution that EC Power uses in many current production markets and allows a client to become NAESB and state PUC compliant and to get away from VAN charges."
