October 2002EC Power Successfully Offers NAESB Version 1.5 Security Capabilities for the Wholesale Natural Gas Industry
…Leading Provider of Electronic Transaction Services up and running on October 1, 2002
EC Power, with a long track record of processing natural gas nominations for the U.S. wholesale natural gas markets, today announced its successful compliance with the National Energy Standards Board (NAESB) requirements for the secure processing of its Version 1.5 standards, effective October 1, 2002.
The NAESB establishes technical standards and protocols for the secure transmission of pipeline reservation transactions between domestic pipeline companies and their trading partners. The natural gas industry has benefited from the work of NAESB, and it predecessor Gas Industry Standards Board (GISB), since 1995. These governing bodies have helped provide the orderly and well managed evolution of the deregulated natural gas industry at the wholesale level here in the United States.
"EC Power is pleased to be able to offer its customers this capability, and is one of the earliest transaction management firms in this industry to do so," says J. Cade Burks, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, EC Power, and a member of the NAESB Board of Directors. "EC Power has extensive knowledge and experience in the wholesale natural gas marketplace, and has served natural gas industry players since 1996.," adds Burks.
