December 2004 EC Power Implements New CRs in the TX 0904 Flight Houston, Texas - The largest independent certification flight of 2004 was complete on November 2nd. 28 competitive retailers tested approximately 10,000 transactions with 8 distribution companies. This is one-third of the size of the TX SET version 2.0 market upgrade flight in May 2004. The market completed the successful test flight in 6 weeks, ensuring new market entrants speedy access into the thriving Texas deregulated market. EC Power certified with 6 competitive retailers in the 0904 flight including new competitive retailers and competitive retailers adding new business functionality. There were a total of 13 new CRs that tested in this flight, with wide ranges of strategic endeavors. With the successful implementation of flight 0904, the Texas deregulated retail market is still growing with 99 competitive retailers to date. The ERCOT Market continues to attract new competitive retailers in both the commercial and industrial segment, as well as the mass residential segment. In the Texas market, EC Power has designed a methodology that allows CR's to quickly and successfully pass the certification process and enter the market. This allows the CR to focus on developing their business strategy in the desired market segment of their choice. With 4 scheduled market flights a year it is convenient for any new entrant to come into the Texas retail marketplace.
